Some large chain pool stores will offer you an aftermarket motor, but if the pump manufacturers don't choose their motors, why should you??
POOLplaza has, since its beginning, made a practice of selling only A.O. Smith motors through the website as these motors are the ones used by most manufacturers on their new pumps. In 2011, Regal Beloit Company purchased the Electrical Products Division of A.O. Smith, which made the pool and spa motors. That division of Regal Beloit is now called Century Electric Motor. There are several motor models but the usual name that will show on the products is “Centurion.” These are the same high quality, durable pump motors that we have always sold, just under a different name.
Call POOLplaza or see the Century website for more information.
