Jandy 2-way valves are a simple ON-OFF type of valve. The thing about Jandy 2-way valves that confuses the
typical pool owner is the position of the handle. Notice in the flash diagram below that when the handle is perpendicular to the pipe, the valve is open. This is
different to most valves where the valve is parallel to the pipe when the valve is open.
The handle has an OFF designation. When that OFF is adjacent to a port of the valve, it indicates that the
port is closed off by the diverter in the valve. This is the key piece of information that is essential to understanding the operation of Jandy type of valves.

to flow through the valve.
