Please pay CAREFUL attention to the performance curves when selecting a Northstar pump (or any pump for that matter). A 1.5 HP Northstar pump will typically pump as much water as many other 2.0 HP pumps. It is easy to oversize a Northstar pump if you are not careful, and that can create a myriad of other problems including excessive pump noise and grid damage on DE filters. Choose a pump by flow rate, NOT by horsepower.

What's UNIQUE about this pump:

The thing that makes this pump different from all the others is its performance curves. It pumps more water per horsepower than any other pool pump. The size of this pump may rule it out as an option on some applications (check dimensions below). It is most often used on new pool construction, while the Super 2 pump is more commonly used as a replacement pump on older pools.

It also comes standard with an energy efficient motor.
