Pentair Backwash Valves
Pentair manufactures backwash valves made of sturdy ABS or PVC plastic for its complete line of Sand and DE filters. Both the multiport and slide valves offer ease of operation and require little maintenance. On the multiport valves, there are either 6 or 7 settings that can be selected, including the basic “Filter” and “Backwash” positions. |

Pentair Multiport Backwash Valves
SIX-POSITION VALVE
FILTER - For Normal filtering and regular vacuuming.
BACKWASH - For cleaning filter sand bed of accumulated debris.
RINSE - Use after completing backwash cycle to ensure all dirty
water is rinsed out of the filter to waste.
WASTE - By-passes the filter for draining or lowering pool water
level and for vacuuming heavy debris directly to waste line.
RECIRCULATE - Water is re-circulated through the valve,
by-passing the filter.
CLOSED- Shuts off the flow from the pump to the filter. Can be
used to winterize the pool.

Side mounted HiFlow
and Multiport valves are designed for maximum performance and working pressures
with water flow up to 125 GPM. The body of these valves is made of durable PVC,
available in 1.5 inch and 2 inch models to fit all models of the Pentair DE and
sand filters. The large, one-piece handle can “dial” up to 6 positions to make whatever
task being performed as simple as possible. All models have threaded compression
nuts to fit filter bulkheads for easy installation/removal.

| Pentair Multiport Top Mount Backwash Valves
|
| The top mounted
HiFlow and Multiport valves are designed for maximum sand filter backwash performance
and precise water flow, up to 125 GPM. The ABS-body valves are available in 1.5
inch and 2 inch models for Pentair top-mount sand filters. The large, one-piece
handle can “dial” up to 6 positions to make whatever task being performed as simple
as possible. There are clamp down and threaded styles (V-thread and buttressed-thread).

Complete with integral sight glass that lets you see when the backwashing cycle
